Abhijit Saikia

Abhijit Saikia was born in Assam and studied painting at the Government College of Art & Crafts, Guwahati. He works primarily in oil and acrylic on canvas, representing the people, culture, nature, and political concerns of the land he belongs. The abundant flora and fauna in the natural landscapes of the hills and valleys infuse in his works, sometimes to address the questions, dreams, and memories. His materials incorporate cultural objects of the Northeast, and allude to the migration to the different landscapes of suburban Delhi. Abhijit lives and works in New Delhi.

Alumni of College of Art, New Delhi, and Abhijit participated in numerous group exhibitions in India and abroad, including two editions of AYSAAF 2019 and 2021- Korea and a solo exhibition in A4A Baitak.
